Details
BMC's Alpenchallenge AC02 is efficient, fast, easy to upkeep, and stylish. It's road bike quick with a comfortable heads-up geometry and flat handlebars. A strong, lightweight, triple-butted aluminum frame helps you cruise over hills, and a tapered fork provides precision handling. Meanwhile, an 8-speed internally-geared, belt-driven drivetrain provides all the low-maintenance gears you need. Shimano disc brakes ensure impressive stopping power in all conditions, plus the Alpenchallenge accommodates racks and fenders (sold separately) so you can ride regardless of weather. The 700c wheels are light, durable, and wrapped in grippy Continental tires. Plus, you get a Selle Royal Sirio saddle and BMC's handlebars, stem, and seatpost for comfort and control.

Internal hub gearing is a gearing system built into the rear wheel hub. It allows you to shift at any time, even when not pedaling, like at a stop sign. Because the majority of parts are housed within the hub, the gearing mechanism is protected from weather and grime, and therefore requires almost no maintenance. Plus, with less external parts than a derailleur system, you’ll get consistently smooth, reliable shifts.
